Navruz is one of the oldest celebrations of the Aryan people, connecting today’s generations with the traditions and rituals of our ancestors. As everyone knows, every nation and people have their own customs and traditions which were preserved for centuries, and these peoples and nations are known precisely by these customs and traditions.
Today, due to the independence of our country, Nowruz has gained new splendor and has finally become the national holiday of Tajik people. In this regard, it can be said that the revival of ancient holidays such as Mehrgon and Sada is a blessing of Navruz, because Navruz is considered one of the most ancient celebrations of Tajik people, and along with other countries of the Aryan people who celebrate Navruz today, Tajiks also await the arrival of this ancestral holiday with all its splendor.
It should be noted that Navruz is an Aryan and national holiday, founded on the natural conditions of the region and the climate of our country, based on the beliefs, convictions and philosophical worldview of our ancestors. Navruz is considered an example of high culture and civilization, and since ancient times has provided the best spiritual basis for people as a symbol of love, sincerity, mutual understanding and unity.
The term “Navruz” means “New Day”, and the history of its formation begins with the revival of nature in spring, the beginning of the sowing season and the equinox.
According to astronomical calculations, the Earth, while moving around the Sun, passes through the vernal equinox point, the moment when the Earth passes through that point is equal to one second. For Tajiks, this time is known as the time of the arrival of Navruz.
Navruz, as a national achievement of Tajiks, was recognized by the UN General Assembly as an international and global holiday at the proposal of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the nation President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. On February 18, 2010, at the 64th session of the United Nations General Assembly, a resolution on “International Navruz Day” was adopted, according to which March 21 was declared the International Navruz Day.
It is worth noting that our independent country celebrates the international holiday of Navruz in a new historical stage and in the conditions of state independence with creativity, innovation, and sustainable development of all sectors of society. Navruz, with all its rich and colorful history, was revived in our country precisely due to state independence with all its richness and color, and today it has become a symbol of self-awareness, national pride, unity and solidarity of the people.
It should be noted that Nowruz is considered the beginning of a new day, the time of awakening of nature and the beginning of the work of farmers and agriculturalists, and this ancestral holiday is celebrated by residents of various regions of our beloved country with fresh splendor and special folk traditions. Because the way of life and material and spiritual culture of the people of this land have historically been formed in combination with the traditions of Navruz, and over the centuries it has expanded with new forms and contents.
In our culture, Navruz is a day of new life, a day of joy, a day of justice and equality, a day of forgiveness of sins, a day of reconciliation, and this renewal is part of our ancient culture, which today calls people around the world to a decent life.
Happy Navruz to everyone!
